..Sing me a song

Sing me a song
A purple song
Of aquamarine lovers and seagreen birds
Sing me a song
A joy song
Of towering cliffs
And crashing waves
Sing me a song
A song of touch
Of clean white bedspreads
And rainsoaked earth
Sing me a song
A night song
A lullaby maybe, weft from a fairy's tear
A song of the self
A song of the world
A song of the mocking bird
Killed in cold blood
Sing me a song, you silly, silly heart
Of the dancing dervish when things fall apart.

  2. Dear Mr. Pinto,
I have read some of Blake's poetry, but none of his songs and likewise with Gibran. Unfortunately with the latter my knoweledge is limited to The Prophet, which really got me thinking.
Blake somehow did not make the same impact as Gibran, probably coz he was part of rudimentary readings at school...:)
    regards,
